Hi Everyone!

It's time for a change. So here's the next episode of Cherry Magazine - THE CATALYSTS

Many people have asked me how I find the time to blog so many entries and if Cherry Magazine was a school project that spiraled "out of control" HAHA. Writing about fashion/beauty/health/etc is a hobby/passion of mine although I admit at times, it is hard to manage my time. [Sorry to those comments I have not replied, I read everyone of them and they truly encourage me. Will try to reply all of them.] In SMU I actually study Information Systems Management (which has got nothing to do with fashion) but took Corporate Communications as a 2nd major because of my interest in writing.

Cherry Magazine started when I had a little too much time on my hands during my internship at SPH Magazines. So I started generating topics to write about and posted it on my blog. Very soon it developed into a dream. A dream to start a magazine that helps young women to lead a fulfilling and positive life through the love for fashion. Often, commercial magazines are tied down by stakeholders who have a profit-driven mindset. Thus, the magazine's vision has to be aligned with it. But with Cherry Magazine, I'm not constrained by profit and am comfortable talking about low budget thrift finds but also the talented designs of the top fashion designers. I do hope that Cherry Magazine will help us to be comfortable and confident about ourselves and in turn to be empowered to love others.

And this is what inspired this episode's topic THE CATALYST with people like America's Next Top Model Whitney and fashion model Ali Michael coming out to take small steps in revolutionizing the fashion industry into one that spreads a positive message.

Florals are always "In" for Spring. But following into Fall, instead of obvious prints and rosettes enters the interpretation of Spring's florals in form and colours. Take for example this gorgeous dusty romantic pink with wave-like robes that mimick the petals of flowers.

Though this outfit lacks the colour factor but the skirt reminds one of a tulip.

"When I was young, my mom used to dress me up in the prettiest things. Not really expensive but they were lovingly put together. Red dresses with lace trimmings, pinafore dresses and sunglasses (yup even then)! So I think I got this whole dressing up thing from my mom. I admire my mom, she's like the modern woman (only without the bitchiness and over materialism). She works, takes care of the family (keeps us healthy) and looks lovely. Love you mom! Muack :)"
