my dearest NTBgals, i've finally squeezed in some time to produce a solid 12 piece collection on the shop! so head on over ;) (click to shop) we shot the whole collection downstairs against one of those white walls at the HDB void deck. No studio lights, no backdrops, just stripped bare.
shot a simple lookbook with an Olympus LT zoom 105 camera that i bought 2nd hand for like $10.00 haha. hope you enjoy the collection :)

here comes the sun

after not doing street style for so long...i think i kind of miss it. so when francesca came over to the office i longed for the great-outdoors! so we just headed down for a couple of shots ;)

the month of may is going to be CRAZY starting from next week. i've got a pre-wedding shoot, two weddings, a friendship-bday-present shoot and two special projects coming up that I'll be working on with the NT team.

*hint, it's got to do with "flipping" and "bowties"
*hint no. 2, they are quite different projects. those two phrases are not related haha

here's another sneak peek, but this time for the NTB lookbook <3 I like this picture, but since it won't be "officially" in the 3-look lookbook, just because it doesn't quite fit in in terms of a common story line but is still blogpost worthy, it's up first! haha

we were shooting at the location when this grumpy uncle came and parked his bicycle near the tree and i thought "perfect! let's put you there!!". while shooting, i kept a constant lookout because i don't think this uncle would be pleased at all that we (a) sat on his bicycle (b) was taking pictures of it and (c) was having alot of fun at his expense. haha when i was done and we crossed the street to get different shots, he came back and i was like "phew". perfect timing haha

and man...as isolated as this location was, there were so many uncles who...i don't know, had something to say? haha that seems to happen with my models :P haha

having said that, the nicolethen boutique has been updated! next week will be a humongous (hey! i got the spelling of humongous right, lol no red line underneath) thrift collection so watch out for that too ;)

hm, talk about dreams...i think my dream is to sell more cool stuff other then vintage clothes. I love vintage things too. haha...maybe i should. you know like cool decorative stuff for the house or something. what would you like to get? ohh....dreams! haha and then maybe have a studio office with all my vintage stuff all around so that people can come in and browse and shop.

I am such an outdoor-sy-natural-light-loving photographer that i actually get depressed from shooting too much studio shots (at first i didn't know why i was so grumpy! haha but after this shoot, i knew why...) Well i shot with Vineeta, who is a first-time model (amazing? haha), well i hope you enjoy this lookbook.

nicolethen boutique sneak preview

ah another week has passed! i know my past few posts have no text, haha so sorry guys but last week was a mad rush! literally everyday i had one shoot on and it was quite insane. i even suffered migraine from the stress. but i'm cool ;) No worries! I enjoyed it though. But because of the shoots for my client, i didn't have time to do one lookbook for the boutique so i just took francesca downstairs and then there was this gorgeous ray of sun! incredibly beautiful isn't it? (light flares not photoshopped in haha). i took some with my film camera too (oh and did i mention the first roll of film came out horrid? haha under exposed, a little blur at night and faces cut off. lol)

so here's a sneak peek for the upcoming nicolethen boutique collection! i'm quite excited because i have lovely help coming to join the team at nicolethen studios and i'll introduce her to you soon ;) the collection this week is amazing (whenever i feel a slight heartbreak about selling these pieces it means it's good, haha) and we're going to introduce a new postage system that will allow you to get your pieces faster! plus with my new team-member, we'll be opening the thrift store again for new sellers & loads of goodies for you guys too. new collection projected to launch later tonight, so stay tuned ;)

# i love nature or at least i think i do. I'm just really freaked out by things that move and bite...most of the time...still when i watch documentaries of animals in their natural habitat, how i really long to be there to capture such things on film. although i'm well aware of all the ickyness that comes with it. this was the shoot where i stood (for quite long) on an ant nest. Goodness! They were all over me...shudder...thank God I didn't get bitten. I'll show you the behind the scene video clip soon, you can hear me scream and freak out hahaha
